Quarter 2 Standards
The following are a few of the standards that will be covered:
READING
I can ask and answer questions about key details in a text.
I can identify characters, setting, and major events in a story.
I can name and define the roles of a text's author and illustrator.
I can actively engage in group reading activities with purpose and understanding.
I can recognize that spoken words correspond to printed words and are read from left to right and top to bottom and are separated by spaces in print.
I can demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds [phonemes].
WRITING
I can use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to narrate a single event or several loosely linked events, tell about the events in the order in
which they occurred, and provide a reaction to what happened.
I can recall information from experiences or gather information from provided sources to answer a question.
MATH
I can count to 100 by ones and tens.
I can count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence.
I can write numbers from 0-20.
I can represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20.
I can understand the relationship between numbers and quantities.
I can count use counting to answer questions such as, "How many objects are there?"
I can identify whether the number of objects in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to the number of objects in another group.
I can compare two numbers between 1 and 10 when presented as written numerals.
I can describe measurable attributes of objects [e.g., length].
SCIENCE
I can identify differences between living and non-living things.
SOCIAL STUDIES
I can observe holidays and celebrations in many different ways.
